OUR HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHTS:

Frequently Asked Questions

We always recommend you book your flight online ahead of time or call us to book your flight 717-276-9328  at least 7-10 days in advance. However, never hesitate to give us a call with less notice—there’s a good chance there may be space available on your desired flight. Keep in mind as you make plans that the most heavily booked time of year for flying is April through mid-November, and the most popular flight time is Saturday at sunset.

A typical flight will include 4-10 people. However, if you are interested in a private, romantic flight, we offer couples-only flights as well to help you build lasting memories.
We offer balloon rides year-round as long as the weather allows, but our primary season with a more routine schedule is April through November. Sunrise and sunset flights occur daily from launch points across southeastern Pennsylvania.
What makes our hot air balloon flights so memorable is that they are much more than just the ride itself. It’s a whole experience. If you wish, you get to take part in the inflation of the balloon and launch preparation, learning ballooning insight from the experts themselves from flight launch to landing. We also provide a champagne toast and refreshments after your flight. Transportation back to the launch site is included. Don’t forget to bring your camera so we can catch your memories on film!

Yes, you can purchase them here. Lancaster Balloon Rides gift cards can be used toward the purchase of a shared or private flight with our premier and professional flight teams at any of our locations: Lancaster, Chester County, or Bucks County.

The entire experience is 2.5 to 3 hours from start to finish, including hands-on launch, an hour-long flight, refreshments and transport back to your launch point.
Balloon riders must be aged 6 years and up. There are no height requirements.
Dress to be comfortable as you would if you were on the ground depending upon the day’s weather conditions. Because a hot air balloon travels at the same speed as the air around it, wind chill is not a factor. If anything, it is typically about 5 to 10 degrees warmer in the balloons. Do not overdress, particularly in the summer.

Everyone that flies with us is required to sign a release of reliability. Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have a parent or guardian co-sign their release. These releases are provided for you at the field to complete before your flight, but you can preview or print here. Download Release Form

Sorry, we cannot fly anyone who is pregnant. Please call us after the baby is born, or give us a call if you would like additional information.
It’s pretty unlikely you’ll feel sick up in the balloon. Once the balloon leaves the ground, it moves at the same speed as the environment; there is no feeling of motion. The sensation of ballooning is actually the total absence of sensation.
Our office is always open 9 AM through 5 PM, Mondays through Fridays. From May through November, our offices are also open during the weekends as well, from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays. We’re very available and approachable, and love talking about flying!

For your safety and ours, we never fly in stormy weather, rain, or inclement weather. You should always check for cancellations when you call in to confirm your flight beforehand (here’s how to call our weather hotline). If a cancellation does occur, you will have three options:

  • Reschedule your balloon flight.
  • Request a refund — See terms & conditions
  • Use your ticket toward a balloon ride anywhere in the U.S. with any of our affiliates.
